Following Meeting Place registration and official welcome at Princes Wharf No.1 (PW1) on Monday 26 October (from 8.30am - 10.30am), delegates will head out across Hobart and surrounding areas for a series of Curated Networking Experiences.

Designed to kick-start connections and instill a sense of place before formal B2B appointments begin, these experiences bring buyers and sellers as well as industry partners together in a relaxed, curated setting to build commercial relationships that can continue throughout Meeting Place, while experiencing some of the best of Hobart and southern Tasmania.

Delegates will be divided into approximately five groups of 80-100 people, with each group comprising a mix of buyers and sellers as well as industry partners. Across the day, delegates will enjoy a combination of interactive tourism experiences, local product showcases, food and beverage, and lunch in venues up to 45 minutes from Hobart. Return transfers from/to PW1 are included.

*Return time will vary depending on the location and inclusions of allocated experiences.

CHOOSE your preferences 

To help us allocate delegates across the five experiences, delegates will be invited to rank the experience themes below in order of preference.

The descriptions are intentionally broad and designed to give you a sense of the style of experience you may enjoy. Specific venues, operators and activities will be revealed at the event.

We encourage delegates from the same organisation to consider choosing different preferences. This provides an opportunity to make different connections, experience more of the destination and share your knowledge and experiences afterwards.

While we will do our best to accommodate your preferences, your first choice cannot be guaranteed. Final allocations are at the discretion of ATEC and will also consider group capacity and creating a strong mix of delegates across each experience. We will confirm the allocations at the event.

Explore the options

1. hops, history & a little mischief

Take a walk through Tasmania’s brewing history, then settle in for local food, drinks and live acoustic music. There’ll be stories to uncover, Tassie producers to meet and plenty of time to enjoy one of Hobart’s most storied places.

2. Vines, views & valley finds

Spend an afternoon among the vines, tasting your way around the Coal River Valley. Local wine, good food and some of the region’s makers and producers come together, with big views and plenty of time to relax and enjoy it all.

3. apples, cider & good company

Head to the Huon Valley, where apples are taken seriously and good company isn’t. Meet local producers, taste what’s grown and made nearby, and settle in over generous Tassie fare in a place with plenty of stories of its own.

4. shuck, sip & mingle

Roll up your sleeves and have a crack at shucking a Tassie oyster, test your palate with a blind tasting and meet some of the people behind the region’s produce. Add local wine, cheese and a generous lunch, and there should be plenty to get people talking.

5. fondue, pepperberry & more

Things get a little different down south. Think old-school cheese fondue, a grazing table piled with local cheese, peppermint gum in your glass and pepperberry in your cheesecake. Meet the makers, explore the property and discover what happens when a cheesery and distillery share the same patch of Tasmania.
